Every year there are 2 whisky festivals in the area.
The1st is the Speyside Whisky Festivalwhich takes place at the beginning of May.
The 2nd is the Duffown Whisky Festival which takes place in September.
You can visit distilleries that are not usually open to the public during the festivals. There are many tours and tastings to go on. If you go to the following link you can book tours and get more information about the festivals.
The highland games are held every year on the last Saturday in July.
There are many events to see, from caber tossing to the pipe bands performingin the street and on the events field.
There are many walks in the area. If you like hill climbing there is Ben Rinnes and Ben Aigen. On a good day it is said when you reach the apex of Ben Rinnes you can see 7 counties. There is also the Giants Chair which is a nice wee walk. If you are lucky you may see the salmon going up stream around September time.
Hunting is available on the Glenfiddich Estate, Dufftown golf club is also nearby.
The Speyside Cooperage just outside Craigellachie is an interesting place to visit, you can watch barrels being made and have a go at making one yourself.
